Globetrotting: Day One of the World Juniors

Every day I'm going to try and find sources from around the world, with a bit of natural bias towards the people that helped us in the previews.  I'll try and get them up earlier in the day than I did for this one, just for the record.  Here's what the world had to say about Canada beating Russia,

A look at the USA-Finland game from Finland's perspective. Finnish TV analyst Mika Kortelainen is impressed with Teemu Pulkkinen, Joonas Nattinen, and Joonas Donskoi, but concerned with the turnovers, lack of touch around the net, and the penalty killing.

WJC draft watch, Day 1: And so the Couturier-Landeskog duel begins - Buzzing The Net - Junior Hockey  - Yahoo! Sports
Sager has a look at the draft eligible players at the WJHC, focusing on the Sean Couturier vs. Gabriel Landeskog comparison, but also throwing bones to Joel Armia, Adam Larsson, Sven Bartschi, Marcel Noebels and Tobias Rieder. - "The city is a shithole"
Buffalo isn't making too positive of an impression from an aesthetic point of view with the Nordic media. But they do say positive things about their reception and the locals.

Sources: USA's Morin suffers significant injury; could be done - TSN

Team USA won its opening game of the World Junior Hockey Championship Sunday night, but may have paid a heavy price. Sources say winger Jeremy Morin, on loan from the Chicago Blackhawks' AHL farm team in Rockford, apparently suffered a shoulder injury that could be significant.
